Dan Boatright is the new office managing shareholder at Littler's Indianapolis office.

Littler has named a new office managing shareholder in its Indianapolis office, with the employment and labor law firm also announcing new leaders at its Denver, Portland, San Diego and San Jose sites.

Daniel Boatright takes on the OMS role in Indianapolis, according to a news release.

He will also continue to lead the Kansas City office.

According to Littler’s website, Boatright has represented employers in hundreds of matters in state and federal courts, primarily in Missouri and Kansas, and before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Labor.

Boatright co-chairs Littler’s Hospitality Practice Group and regularly advises employers on tip credit and tip pooling issues.

In an email to Indiana Lawyer, Boatright said Littler doesn’t have term limits for the OMS position.

Rather, it’s up to the OMS to decide when they are ready to pass the torch, Boatright said, with a level of succession planning involved when it comes to selecting the next OMS.

“Our Indianapolis office has an excellent team of nine attorneys who have developed a sophisticated practice handling all types of employment and labor matters,” Boatright said in the email. “This highly skilled team regularly advises large Midwestern, national and global organizations, including several leading corporations in the retail, hospitality, transportation, financial services, insurance and pharmaceutical industries. They are also active members of the local and state bar associations and community organizations.”

Boatright said that over the past few years, Littler has shifted to a multi-office approach for various offices, which has allowed the firm to utilize the leadership experience of its existing OMSs.

“As a global firm with more than 100 offices, we have a unique opportunity for collaboration and sharing of best practices to ensure we’re providing our clients with the best possible service,” Boatright said.

Boatright took over as OMS in Kansas City in 2012.

He said that office has grown roughly 36% in 12 years.

Boatright said he’s looking forward to tapping into the local talent to do the same in Indianapolis.

The new Indianapolis OMS said Al McLaughlin did an excellent job of growing Littler’s footprint in Indianapolis and he plans to continue building upon McLaughlin’s efforts.

“Our local team has deep knowledge and experience in labor and employment law and will continue to counsel executive leaders on the complex issues impacting our clients’ businesses,” Boatright said.
