Rucker Building after the justice.
Commissioner Roosevelt Allen spearheaded the renaming effort and said naming the building after Justice Rucker recognizes his distinguished career and that he is a role model for many black males. Justice Rucker is a Gary native who earned his law degree from Valparaiso University in 1976. He joined the Indiana Supreme Court in 1999.
