Lila Judson, executive director of the Indiana Supreme Court Division of State Court Administration, has been elected to serve as the vice president of the national Conference of State Court Administrators for the 2008-09 term.

COSCA is a national organization for court administrators to receive help in developing a more effective and efficient system of justice. As vice president, she will work with court executives and chief justices across the country to strengthen the judicial branch and educate trial courts.

Her election as vice president puts her in line to take over as president of the organization during the 2010-11 term. The election also allows Judson to become a board member of the National Center for State Courts, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving justice.

Judson has been a member of COSCA since 1998, when she was appointed by Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard to the executive director position.
