Shepard, who was raised in Evansville and retired from the Indiana Supreme Court in March after serving as a justice for 27 years, fills a vacancy created by the retirement of Old National Director Joseph Barnett.
Since his retirement, Shepard also was named the first executive in residence at Indiana University Public Policy Institute at IU’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs in Indianapolis.
Old National is the largest financial services holding company headquartered in Indiana and is among the nation’s 100 largest banks, with $8.6 billion in assets.
