The Boone County courthouse was closed Friday as the county was under a state of emergency due to flooding. A representative of the sheriff’s office said the courthouse in Lebanon was expected to reopen Monday, though no determination had been made early Friday.

Boone County restricted travel to emergency vehicles after flooding on Eagle Creek reached a near-record high and as much of Indiana remained under a flood warning.

Eagle Creek at Zionsville experiences minor flooding at 9 feet and major flooding at 14 feet. The creek level rose from 4.8 feet Thursday morning to 15.96 feet Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service.

The creek was expected to crest at just over 16 feet before noon Friday but will remain above flood stage through at least late Sunday.
