The agenda for Monday's meeting outlines five areas the committee will discuss, including the housing of people with mental health issues in jail and prisons; availability and effectiveness of mental health services for adult offenders, and criminal justice issues concerning individuals with autism spectrum disorders.
The committee members will also look at organized retail crime and proposed changes to the criminal code.
The meeting adjourns at 11 a.m., breaks at noon for lunch and reconvenes at 1 p.m.
The committee also is scheduled to meet Sept. 22 and Oct. 6.
