The Indiana Supreme Court justices attended the dedication of a historical marker in Lafayette Nov. 10 honoring Helen M. Gougar, a 19th century attorney who fought for women’s right to vote. The marker is in front of Gougar’s former home, which is now the Fisher Funeral Chapel. The justices were in Lafayette for oral arguments at Purdue University. Pictured are (from left) Justices Robert Rucker, Brent Dickson, Chief Justice Loretta Rush, Justices Mark Massa and Steven David, Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski, and third graders from St. Mary’s School.
