The Journal Gazette reports attorneys for Quinn Albers also want mental health experts to determine whether Albers was suffering from mental disease or defect at the time 30-year-old Katherine Gick was killed. His attorneys informed the court they intend to use a defense of mental disease or defect.
Gick's death in October was ruled a homicide, with the exact cause still under investigation. An autopsy revealed she had suffered blunt-force trauma and sharp-force trauma to her body, which was found in an undeveloped area of Catholic Cemetery east of the city's downtown.
