IndyBar: Criminal Justice Section Honors Colleagues at Holiday Party

Now in its third year, the Gil Berry Jr. Award recognizes professionalism and service to the criminal justice community. It was created to reward non-lawyers who exhibit those qualities of professionalism and the giving spirit that the late Gil Berry Jr. personified. Honored this year were members of the former probation court team: Thomas Bridgewater, William Lacy, Shari Snowden, Julie Ward and Steve VanCleave. As their nomination notes, “They took more grief from defense lawyers than any sane person should have to suffer. They handled all the haggling, cajoling and whining with terrific grace. Their calming presence in the courtrooms will be missed.”
