Disciplinary Actions -1/14/15

The Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission brings charges against attorneys who have violated the state’s rules for admission to the bar and Rules of Professional Conduct. The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications brings charges against judges, judicial officers, or judicial candidates for misconduct. Details of attorneys’ and judges’ actions for which they are being disciplined by the Supreme Court will be included unless they are not a matter of public record under the court’s rules.

Suspension
Lisa A. Caramouche, of Lake County, has been suspended by the Indiana Supreme Court, per a Dec. 18 order. Caramouche, on at least five occasions, disbursed funds from her trust account using electronic funds transfer. These transfers were not based on a written withdrawal authorization and did not contain the signed approval of an attorney. She also deposited and held fees collected from clients in her business account instead of her trust account. Caramouche is suspended for six months, beginning Dec. 18, but it is all stayed subject to completion of at least two years of probation. The costs of the proceeding are assessed against her.

Peter S. Raventos, of Owen County, has had his suspension for noncooperation with the Disciplinary Commission converted to an indefinite suspension, per a Dec. 18 Indiana Supreme Court order. Raventos was originally suspended for failure to cooperate in April 2014.•
