“The resolution adopted today recognizes his unwavering commitment to integrity and fairness on the bench, as well as his broader efforts over the course of his career to promote civility and mutual respect in the legal profession,” Senate President Pro Tem David Long, R-Fort Wayne, said in a statement. “Justice Dickson’s steady leadership has strengthened our state’s court system, and I join all of my colleagues in thanking him for his service and wishing him all the best in retirement.”
“Justice Brent Dickson exemplifies what it means to be a true public servant,” said House Speaker Brian Bosma, R-Indianapolis. “From his tenure with the Supreme Court to his appointment as Chief Justice, he leaves a lasting legacy through his tireless dedication to fairness and civility. I wish him the very best in his retirement.”
Dickson will retire April 29, and 30 applicants to replace him will be interviewed next week by the Judicial Nominating Commission.
