The Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission brings charges against attorneys who have violated the state’s rules for admission to the bar and Rules of Professional Conduct. The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications brings charges against judges, judicial officers, or judicial candidates for misconduct. Details of attorneys’ and judges’ actions for which they are being disciplined by the Supreme Court will be included unless they are not a matter of public record under the court’s rules.
SUSPENSION
Hendricks County attorney Eric W.I. Anglin was suspended for noncooperation, effective immediately, per an Oct. 12 order. Anglin has not submitted a response to an order to show cause in the investigation of a grievance. He also must pay $519.68 for the costs of prosecuting the proceeding.
Vanderburgh County attorney Brian J. Oberst is conditionally suspended for 60 days with automatic reinstatement, per an Oct. 12 order approving statement of circumstances and conditional agreement for discipline, effective Nov. 22. The parties agree Oberst engaged in a criminal act that reflects adversely on his honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer and engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation. Costs of the proceeding are assessed against Oberst.
St. Joseph County attorney Sven E. Marshall, who was suspended in May for noncooperation concerning a grievance, now is suspended indefinitely per an Oct. 12 order. He previously was ordered to reimburse the commission $513.24 for the costs of prosecuting the proceeding.
Marion County attorney Mark J. Pizur was suspended for 180 days, with automatic reinstatement, beginning Nov. 22, per an Oct. 12 order approving statement of circumstances and conditional agreement for discipline. Pizur, an attorney for the Indianapolis Office of Corporate Counsel, was disciplined for providing inaccurate information to a reporter about the activities of Indianapolis Animal Care and Control, and then altering the email in question. Costs of the proceedings are assessed against him.
Marion County attorney Glenn E. Davis Jr. was suspended for noncooperation in the investigation of two grievances against him, effective immediately, per an Oct. 12 order. He also must pay $513.12 for the costs of prosecuting a proceeding against him.
Marion County attorney Kenneth S. Service, who was suspended in June for noncooperation with the disciplinary process, is now suspended indefinitely, per an Oct. 24 order. See Page 17.
St. Joseph County attorney Janee L.G. Mitchell was suspended for noncooperation with the disciplinary process in the investigation of two grievances against her per an Oct. 24 court order. She also must pay $519.68 for the costs of prosecuting one of the proceedings against her.•
