The new four-sided clock tower on the Montgomery County Courthouse was dedicated June 17 after more than 20 years of fundraising to rebuild the tower that was removed in 1941 because of structural concerns.
Clock Tower Committee fundraising leader Sandy Lofland-Brown said the group overcame many doubts over the years that the new tower for the 1876 courthouse in Crawfordsville would become a reality.
The (Crawfordsville) Journal Review reported the committee is working to pay off a loan from the county that was needed to sign a contract for the $500,000 project.
