Robert E. Redington v. State of Indiana
18A-CR-950
Criminal. Reverses the Monroe Circuit Court’s order denying the return of Robert Redington’s firearms. Finds the state failed to offer current evidence that Redington is still considered statutorily dangerous, relying solely on evidence presented in 2012. Concludes Redington is not currently dangerous, and therefore is entitled to the return of his guns. Remands for the trial court to enter an order that Redington’s guns be returned to him.
James R. Stroud, Heartland Homestead, LLC, and Heartland Land Trust v. Thomas J. Stone
18A-CC-1722
Civil collection. Reverses in part the Dearborn Superior Court’s judgment as to a promissory note signed by James Shroud and received by Thomas Stone, finding the complaint for repayment of sums owing under the note should have been dismissed as time-barred. Finds Stone filed his complaint for repayment eight years after the promissory note defaulted, surpassing the statute of limitations. Remands for the trial court to amend its judgment to reflect it is entered solely against the trust.
