Hollingsworth & Zivitz, founded in 2004, has merged with Roberts Means LLC, established in 2012, to form Hollingsworth Roberts Means, the new firm announced Tuesday.
Kena Hollingsworth will join Jeffrey Roberts and William Means as partners.
Four attorneys and a business manager from Hollingsworth & Zivitz and three attorneys from Roberts Means have joined the firm.
The firms plan to work separately from HZ’s existing office at 11555 N. Meridian St. and RM’s office at 12805 E. New Market St. until they move in together later this year in a new office building in the Village of West Clay.
Hollingsworth said she considers the new firm a “boutique legal powerhouse” that offers full-service litigation and family law.
Hollingsworth & Zivitz went through a legal dispute of its own earlier this year when Hollingsworth sued co-founder Christina M. Zivitz, seeking to dissolve the firm after what Hollingsworth described as a “deadlock” between the two over management.
After mediation, the two reached a settlement in which Hollingsworth agreed to purchase Zivitz’s share of the business.
Three attorneys from the firm—Erin Connell, Catherine Michael and Sonja Kerr—left shortly afterward to form Carmel-based Connell Michael Kerr LLP.
