G.S., Jr. v. H.L.
21A-JP-1382
Juvenile paternity. Affirms the Hendricks Superior Court’s order granting A.L. (stepfather) sole legal and primary physical custody of J.S. (child), who was born to H.L. (mother) and G.S. Jr. (father). Finds father has not persuaded the COA that the trial court abused its discretion by awarding custody to stepfather.
Kenneth Kee v. State of Indiana (mem. dec.)
21A-PC-849
Post-conviction. Affirms the denial of Kenneth Kee’s petition for post-conviction relief that challenged his convictions for two counts of Level 4 felony dealing in methamphetamine. Finds Kee did not demonstrate his entitlement to post-conviction relief.
Williams Rodriguez v. State of Indiana (mem. dec.)
21A-CR-987
Criminal. Affirms William Rodriguez’s Level 5 felony conviction for criminal confinement. Finds sufficient evidence to sustain his conviction as a Level 5 felony.
Julius Evans v. State of Indiana (mem. dec.)
21A-CR-1013
Criminal. Affirms Julius Evans’ 16-year sentence, with 10 years to be served on work release, for his conviction of Level 3 felony possession of cocaine. Finds his sentence is not inappropriate.
B.C. v. State of Indiana (mem. dec.)
21A-JV-1820
Juvenile. Affirms the award of wardship of B.C. to the Indiana Department of Correction by the Vanderburgh Superior Court. Finds it is that the trial court made reasonable efforts to place B.C. in less-restrictive settings but, despite those efforts, B.C. has continued to break the law. Also finds the juvenile court did not abuse its discretion when it ordered that B.C. committed to the DOC.
