Nominations in any of the four Leadership in Law award categories may be submitted through 11:59 p.m. March 8.
Since 2006, Indiana Lawyer’s Leadership in Law Awards have honored the best and brightest in the Hoosier legal profession. The awards include four categories:
- Distinguished Barristers: Those with a J.D. who have worked in the law for at least 20 years.
- Up and Coming Lawyers: Those with a J.D. who have worked in the law for 10 years or less.
- Legal Support Stars: Paralegals, court reporters, legal secretaries and other legal support staffers who support the Indiana legal profession.
- Lifetime Achievement Award: A person(s) with a J.D. who has worked in the law for at least 25 years and who has demonstrated excellence in community involvement, pro bono/volunteer service, mentorship and civility.
In the Distinguished Barrister and Up and Coming Lawyer categories, 15 honorees will be selected per award. At least five Legal Support Stars will be honored, and the Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to no more than two honorees.
While an honoree can only win each category once, he or she can be honored in different categories in different years. For example, a previous Up and Coming Lawyer can be considered for Distinguished Barrister recognition, and a previous Distinguished Barrister can be considered for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Nominations must be submitted via the Indiana Lawyer website. We can no longer accept submissions via email or U.S. Mail.
