Qualified applicants should complete and submit the judicial application no later than 5 p.m. Nov. 30.
The opening is being created by Judge Lori Quillen, who will be retiring Jan. 20, a little more than 10 years after she became a judge. In her legal career, she has broken two glass ceilings, being the first female attorney to practice in Owen County and the first woman elected to the Owen Circuit Court.
The circuit court handles a variety of case types including criminal, juvenile, adoptions, estates and guardianships.
Individuals interested in the position must complete an application that requires a statement of interest, trial and judicial experience, and membership as well as community service.
The completed applications should be sent to the Governor’s Office, preferably by email to [email protected], or alternatively by hard copy to Governor’s Office, ATTN: Joseph R. Heerens, State House Room 206, 200 W. Washington Street, Indianapolis, 46204.
