Indiana Court of Appeals
Julia M. Guilfoyle and Thomas G. Guilfoyle v. Hannah M. Guilfoyle and Gregory C. Guilfoyle
23A-MI-2673
Miscellaneous. Affirms the Dearborn Circuit Court’s dismissal of Julie and Thomas Guilfoyle’s petition for grandparent visitation with their grandchild, R.M.G. Finds the trial court did not err when it concluded that the Guilfoyles lacked standing to petition for visitation with their grandchild. Also finds the grandparents make no argument that a compelling government interest warrants intrusion on the parents’ parental rights here.

Figg Bridge Builders, LLC v. Cline Avenue Bridge, LLC, and United Bridge Operating, LLC v. Great American Insurance Company
23A-PL-2807
Civil plenary. Affirms the Lake Superior Court’s order that Figg Bridge Builders, LLC was entitled to post-judgment interest from Cline Avenue Bridge, LLC  on a $4.4 million award but Figg was entitled to interest only from the 31st day after the arbitrators’ decision to Sept. 22, 2022, when CAB had deposited the amount claimed with the trial court clerk. Finds that the trial court did not err when it declined to award interest against CAB and for Figg for the time between CAB’s deposit of the amount claimed in September 2022 and CAB’s withdrawal of its claim for that amount in April 2023.
