The following opinion was published after IL’s deadline Wednesday:
Indiana Tax Court
Chris Bougie v. Gail Chapman in her official capacity as the Kosciusko County Assessor
23T-TA-17
Tax. Affirms the Indiana Board of Tax Review’s final determination increasing Chris Bougie’s 2021 and 2022 property tax assessments. Finds Bougie does not provide probative evidence to support his contention that either the process or the result was improper. Also finds the appraisal valuations were done by a person skilled in doing evaluations and provided sufficient basis for the result. Finally, finds Bougie’s Fourth Amendment rights were not violated.

Thursday opinions
Indiana Court of Appeals
Brian A. Batta v. Christina S. Batta
24A-DR-192
Domestic relations. Reverses the Tippecanoe Superior Court’s order determining the amount of Brian Batta’s child support arrearage. Finds the trial court erred in denying Batta a credit against his existing support arrearage for the lump-sum payments of retroactive Social Security Disability benefits and for all of the periodic SSD benefit payments received to date by his children or by Christina Batta on their behalf. Remands for further proceedings and a new order calculating the father’s current arrearage.
