The Indiana Supreme Court on Thursday granted senior status to six retired or former judges around the state who want to work part-time to assist with staffing needs in Indiana courts.

Judges appointed as senior judges by the high court are:

-Judge Daniel Young of Vermillion Superior Court.

Judge Charles Todd of Wayne Superior Court.

Judge Daniel Molter of Newton Superior Court.

Jeffrey Miller, former Judge of Lake Superior Court.

Judge Monte Brown of DeKalb Superior Court.

Judge Jeffrey Biesterveld of Pike Circuit Court.

Courts use senior judges as a replacement in the absence of a regular judge, as a complement to the regular judge or to oversee the processing of certain types of cases or court programs.
