All are needed, and all are welcome. That’s the message Ranissa Dycus, Associate General Counsel at American Senior Communities, intends to spread as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director for the Indianapolis Bar Association and Foundation Boards of Directors. To kick things off she is seeking new committee members to join the effort.

Recently appointed by the presidents of both the association and foundation, Dycus will oversee the bar’s efforts to provide opportunities, insight, and education to enhance the bar as a diverse, inclusive, and equitable space for all practitioners.

All IndyBar members interested in joining the effort are encouraged to let their interest be known. Planning meetings for the committee begin soon with bi-monthly sessions online and in-person. The total monthly time commitment of committee members shouldn’t exceed more than two hours per month including participation in committee planned activities. The first planning session is anticipated to be held online before the end of this year.

Participation in the planning committee is open to all IndyBar members including attorneys, paralegals, and law students. Individuals interested in volunteering for the planning group and organizations interested in hosting a future breakfast should contact IndyBar Board of Directors’ DEI Director Ranissa Dycus at [email protected].•
