The 150th Indiana Legal Help kiosk went online Wednesday in Lake County, the Indiana Bar Foundation announced.
The kiosks, originally meant to focus on housing issues such as eviction, will soon include access to all Indiana Legal Help resources on topics including child custody, workplace discrimination, divorce and expungement, the announcement said.
The self-service kiosks are part of a grant-funded project with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.
The kiosks offer access to the IndianaLegalHelp.org website that connects users to free legal assistance, along with self-help legal forms and resources.
“The Foundation is uniquely qualified and positioned to administer this critical program,” the bar foundation’s president, Charles Dunlap, said in a statement. “Our IndianaLegalHelp.org website is an incredible resource for Hoosiers facing eviction, and the kiosks ensure that anyone around the state can easily access the site and find legal help.”
The bar foundation also recently launched Indiana Legal Help Desk, a free service for people with housing legal questions.
Legal navigators are available Monday through Friday via live chat to provide information and connect people to legal resources such as eviction clinics.
