An October trip to Kenya to visit legal colleagues in a partnership between Indiana and Eldoret attorneys is open to anyone who wants to join the delegation and learn more about the program.

The Kenyan and Indianapolis attorneys founded the Legal Aid Centre of Eldoret (LACE) in 2008 to provide legal services to poor people in western Kenya, many of whom are HIV-positive and would have no other access to legal services. The delegation of Indiana lawyers, judges, and law faculty will visit Kenya Oct. 6-15.

An informational meeting is scheduled for 5 to 6 p.m. July 22 in Fairbanks Hall, 440 W. 10th St., Room 1112, Indianapolis. Contact Fran Quigley at [email protected] with questions about the trip.

More information about the partnership is available on the LACE Web site. An article about LACE will be published in the July 22-Aug. 4, 2009, issue of IL.
