Leslie C. Shively, Evansville, president; Jon B. Laramore, Indianapolis, vice president; Maria Pabon Lopez, Indianapolis, secretary; and Gilbert King Jr., Gary, treasurer, will serve in their respective office for another one-year term. The four were re-elected at an October 2009 meeting.
In addition to being elected treasurer, King Jr. was also reappointed to the board for a five-year term. He was first appointed to the board in 2004.
The Board of Law Examiners is responsible for making sure people admitted to practice in Indiana have met the requirements specified in the Admission and Discipline Rules of the Indiana Supreme Court, including writing and grading the essay portion of the bar examination.
