Attorney David A. Happe is the new judge of Madison Superior Court IV. Gov. Mitch Daniels appointed Happe Thursday to fill the vacancy left following the death of Judge David Hopper in February.

Happe, of Anderson, previously served as corporation counsel for the city of Anderson and as chief administrative public defender for Madison County. He's worked in private practice since 2007. The appointment will be effective within 60 days.
