As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowIt's tax time again, and that means Valparaiso University School of Law students are ready to help elderly and low-income taxpayers who need help completing their tax returns. Beginning Feb. 7, the students will be available at the law school to provide free assistance preparing state and federal taxes.
The law students are participating in the IRS's Volunteers in Tax Assistance community service program. Those who qualify for tax help can visit www.valpo.edu/law/vita or leave a message at (219) 465-7900 to make an appointment. A student volunteer will contact the individual to schedule an appointment. Assistance will be provided each Saturday through April 11 at the law school, 656 S. Greenwich St., Valparaiso.
