The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana officially has its newest magistrate. Completion of a background check in early May was the final hurdle for Indianapolis lawyer Denise K. LaRue. A private swearing-in ceremony was scheduled for May 24, and a public investiture ceremony will occur later this summer.

LaRue is a 1989 cum laude graduate of Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis and has been a name partner at employment law firm Haskin & LaRue. The new magistrate was selected in February to fill the position created last fall by the Judicial Conference of the United States.
