Jarrell B. (“Jerry”) Hammond, a partner at Lewis & Wager, LLP epitomizes the courteousness and character that form two of the Standards of Professionalism of the Indianapolis Bar Association. His good-natured dealings with other lawyers make it a pleasure to deal with Jerry as opposing counsel, and his representation of multiple generations of family members in dealing with clients’ probate and estate matters is a hallmark of a level of trust and confidence that reflects well upon him and helps raise the esteem in which all lawyers can be regarded.
Brian Hewitt, a partner at Alerding Castor Hewitt, LLP, states this about Jerry: “Having known Jerry for over 30 years I can assure you that he possesses two qualities that above all others are most important: He is loyal and he is honest. I have experienced Jerry’s loyalty and honesty, without exception, as co-counsel, opposing counsel and mediator.”
A 1978 graduate of DePauw University and a 1982 graduate of Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis, Jerry serves on the Executive Committee of the Estate Planning & Administration Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association. Jerry also serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of Child Advocates, which represents children in the Marion County Juvenile Court who are victims of abuse and neglect.•
