With an eye toward filling a pair of Marion Superior Court judge vacancies, the county’s Judicial Selection Committee has announced interview times for 27 candidates in late October.
The two vacancies are in major felony and family court as Democrat Judges John Hanley and Mark Stoner prepare to retire at the end of this year.
The Marion Superior Court Executive Committee offered any sitting judge the opportunity to transfer courts. The transfer period has closed.
Two judges, 11 magistrate judges, one senior judge and 13 attorneys will be interviewing for the two positions.
The interviews will be held in the Supreme Court Conference Room (Statehouse 319) at 200 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46204.
Once all of the interviews have concluded, the selection committee will recommend three finalists for each post to Gov. Eric Holcomb, who will choose the new judges.
