The Indianapolis Bar Association Women & the Law Division is offering several scholarships for its “Women, Law & Leadership” symposium, Oct. 5 and 6 at Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown at Historic Union Station. Scholarship applications are due by Sept. 9.

The symposium will feature presentations by judges, attorneys, and professors on a variety of topics. The keynote speaker is Indiana University Maurer School of Law graduate Martha West, who in her long career wrote several books and articles on gender discrimination in faculty hiring and promotion, sexual harassment, and employment law.

The Leadership Lunch speaker is Roberta D. Liebenberg, senior partner at Philadelphia’s Fine Kaplan & Black. Liebenberg is the immediate past chair of the American Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession and is a former chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession and the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Women in the Profession Committee. She is the vice chair of Direct Women, which seeks to place women lawyers on for-profit corporate boards.

Full program information and scholarship applications can be found on the IndyBar website.
