Law School Briefs is Indiana Lawyer’s section highlighting news from law schools in Indiana. While IL has always covered law school news and continues to keep up with law school websites and press releases for updates, we gladly accept submissions for this section from law students, professors, alumni, and others who want to share law school-related news. If you’d like to submit news or a photo from an event, please send it to Jenny Montgomery at [email protected], along with contact information for any follow-up questions at least two weeks in advance of the issue date.

Human rights event

Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis’ Program in International Human Rights Law will commemorate International Human Rights Day in conjunction with two other events from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 1 in Conour Atrium, Inlow Hall, 530 W. New York St.

The event coincides with the 2011 overseas summer International Human Rights Laws interns’ debriefing and the Indiana release of “LL.M. Roadmap: An International Student’s Guide to U.S. Law School Programs.” The publication is by George Edwards, director of the PIHRL and Carl M. Gray Professor of Law.

The theme of the evening will be “International Legal Education & Human Rights: Protecting the Rights of International Students vis-à-vis Their U.S. Schools, and How International Education Promotes Human Rights.”
