Holmes joined the ACLU of Indiana in 2008 and served as interim executive director for nearly a near before being named the executive director Dec. 10, 2009. Before working for the legal organization, Holmes was president and CEO of the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corp. Holmes also held a number of executive and leadership positions at companies and institutions including Lincoln National Corp. in Fort Wayne and the Indianapolis Museum of Art. He’s a U.S. Army veteran who served more than 20 years.
Holmes received his juris doctor from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1999 and is a certified mediator.
The ACLU of Indiana board of directors executive committee will name an interim director and conduct a national search for Holmes’ replacement.
