The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee approved legislation Thursday that will allow cameras in the Supreme Court of the United States. The measure, S.1945, was approved by an 11-7 vote.
Legislators want to get cameras in the nation’s highest court before the justices hear arguments in the cases related to the Affordable Care Act.
This isn’t the first time the committee has passed a bill seeking to record SCOTUS proceedings. The committee has reported similar legislation in every Congress since the 107th Congress; this is currently in the 112th Congress; 2nd session.
