Shepard has approved a 2.2 percent pay increase for judges and prosecutors that will take effect July 1, following the governor’s similar action for executive employees at the start of the year.
Judges and prosecutors also received a pay hike in 2011 after experiencing a two-year salary freeze.
With this 2.2 percent salary increase, full-time prosecutors and state trial judges will earn $130,080, according to Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathryn Dolan.
The latest ranking by the National Center for State Courts puts Indiana trial judges’ pay at 34th in the country, Dolan said.
