Chief Justice Brent Dickson will deliver his first State of the Judiciary address to the Indiana General Assembly at 2 p.m. EST on Jan. 23.

Dickson, who was selected in May 2012 to succeed retired Chief Justice Randall Shepard, will present the formal update on the work of the judiciary to a joint session of the Legislature.

According to a statement from the Indiana Supreme Court, Dickson’s address will be webcast live at courts.in.gov, and will be aired on Indiana Public Broadcasting television and radio stations at times to be announced.

Article 7, Section 3 of the Indiana Constitution requires the chief justice to provide Indiana lawmakers “regular reports on the condition of the courts.”
