At Monday’s House Judiciary Committee, members will discuss three bills, including one that requires a court clerk to collect a $50 mortgage foreclosure counseling and education fee in certain cases.

House Bill 1308 says the clerk, who must collect a civil costs fee from a party filing a civil action under Indiana Code 33-37-4-4(a), must also collect the education and counseling fee from a party filing a civil action to foreclose a mortgage. Those fees must be deposited in the home ownership education account.

HB 1376 looks at privacy issues involving telephone caller identification services and the use of unnamed aerial vehicles or tracking devices.

HB 1027 grants civil immunity to a registered architect or professional engineer who provides, without compensation, professional services related to a declared emergency.

The hearing begins at 10:30 a.m. in Room 156-D at the Statehouse.
