Sims became a hearing officer/magistrate in Allen Circuit Court in 1995, and he later became an Allen Superior judge in the Family Relations Division in 1997, where he currently presides. Before becoming a judge, Sims served as prosecutor in Allen County from 1983 to 1994.
“I want to express my heart-felt appreciation to my family, my colleagues on the Bench and at Bar, my staff at the Allen County Juvenile Center, and to the community at large, who I’ve been privileged to serve,” Sims said in a news release.
Gov. Mike Pence will select Sims’ replacement from a list of candidates sent to him by the Allen County Judicial Nominating Commission.
