Questions of whether evidence should be suppressed in a marijuana possession case will be heard in an Appeals on Wheels oral argument Tuesday afternoon at Lawrence North High School.

The Court of Appeals panel of Presiding Judge Ezra Friedlander and Judges Mark Bailey and Cale Bradford will hear the appeal of misdemeanor convictions of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia in a Hancock County case, Duane Jadrich v. State of Indiana, 32A04-1302-CR-67.

On appeal, Jadrich claims evidence should have been suppressed because police found marijuana only after entering a fenced-in backyard where a sign directed visitors to use the front door, and because other evidence was found after police told him he could consent to a search or a warrant would be obtained. Jadrich also claims his home was searched while he was in custody and that police failed to tell him he had a right to consult an attorney.

The argument will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the school, 7802 Hague Road.
