Eric Turner violated legislative ethics when he pushed caucus members to vote against a bill that would have potentially hurt his family’s business interests.
Chaired by Rep. Greg Steuerwald, R-Avon, the Committee on Ethics will meet at 2 p.m. April 23 in Room 404 of the Statehouse.
Turner, a Republican from Cicero, lobbied against a bill that would have banned construction of new nursing homes Indiana. He is an investor in Mainstreet Property Group which makes money by building nursing homes.
After House Democrats pushed for an investigation, House Speaker Brian Bosma, R-Indianapolis, requested the Ethics Committee look into the matter.
