Lake County officials said Friday that a civil division court and a family court that had both been housed in Gary's Lake County Courthouse have been moved to separate courtrooms in other buildings in Gary and Crown Point.
Four courts have now been relocated to other buildings because of Thursday's fire, which caused severe damage to several pieces of the courthouse's electrical system
Lake County Commission President Mike Repay tells The (Munster) Times that the Gary courthouse will be closed through at least the first week of September.
