Subscribe NowThe Indiana State Bar Association and the office of Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller will join with Feeding Indiana’s Hungry on Wednesday to kick off a monthlong effort to raise money and nonperishable donations for the state’s regional food banks.
The seventh annual March Against Hunger event will begin at 9 a.m. at Gleaner’s Food Bank of Indiana Inc., 3737 Waldemere Ave., Indianapolis.
March Against Hunger is a competition to raise non-perishable food and monetary donations for Indiana’s 11 regional food banks from March 1-31. Gleaners is one of the 11 food banks that partner with Feeding Indiana’s Hungry, a statewide association formed to address the vital concern of feeding Indiana’s residents.
Attorneys interested in participating in the competition may register on the state bar's website. Competitors will be vying for the “Attorney General’s Cup” trophy in categories of solo proprietor; small firm (two to 11 lawyers); medium firm (12-21); large firm (22-49); extra-large firm (50 or more); and public/nonprofit/local bar.
Since 2009, the March Against Hunger food drive has generated 52,354 pounds of food and $231,799.00 in cash donations for Indiana food banks.
