About 40 attorneys from midsized, general practice law firms around the country and a handful of global lawyers will gather for the Legal Netlink Alliance spring convention beginning Thursday in Indianapolis.

The event is hosted by the Indianapolis firm Cohen & Malad, LLP, a member of the alliance that provides clients of smaller firms quality legal representation around the world through an interpersonal referral network.

Educational sessions will include these presentations:

•    Multidistrict litigation, presented by U.S. Magistrate Debra McVicker Lynch of the District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and Jeff Gibson of Cohen & Malad;
•    Cybersecurity issues for lawyers, presented by Drew Simshaw, policy analyst for the Center for Law, Ethics and Applied Research in Health Information at Indiana University; and,
•    Dealing with lawyers in the firm with mental or physical health issues, presented by Loretta A. Oleksy, deputy director of the Indiana Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program.

Along with Cohen & Malad, Newby Lewis Kaminski & Jones LLP of LaPorte is the only other Indiana firm affiliated with the Legal Netlink Alliance. More information about the alliance is available here.
