Central Indiana authorities say a murder warrant in a 2002 cold case has been issued against a man currently jailed in California.

The Hendricks County Sheriff's Department says 37-year-old Marco Galindo has been charged in the death of 33-year-old Natalie Horsely. She was found dead Nov. 21, 2002, at a construction site near Avon, about 15 miles west of Indianapolis.

Capt. Amanda Goings says Galindo is currently jailed in Solano County, California, on unrelated charges. A hold has been placed for him to be transported to Indiana to face the murder charge.

Goings says the case had been considered cold until detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the Indiana State Police Crime Lab notified Hendricks County detectives of a potential lead.

The warrant was issued Sept. 9.
