Clark County has become the second county to have its trial courts use electronic filing.

E-filing is now available in Clark County courts for many civil and criminal case types, including civil tort, felonies, expungement and post-conviction relief.

Harrison, Madison, Shelby and Wells counties are scheduled to implement e-filing in the first quarter of this year. Henry, Floyd, Franklin, Hendricks, Morgan, St. Joseph and Tipton counties are also scheduled to make the switch before the end of 2016.

The Supreme Court announced in 2014 its plan to implement statewide e-filing in trial courts. The goal is to have all courts using the system by the end of 2018. In July 2015, Hamilton County became the first trial court to go to e-filing; the Indiana Court of Appeals and Indiana Supreme Court began accepting electronic cases in November 2015. The Indiana Tax Court went to e-filing earlier this month.
