The Lebanon Police Department has arrested a man in a 26-year-old attempted rape case after a state lab was able to link him to the crime.

Fifty-year-old Todd M. Richardson of Franklin was arrested Thursday morning in connection with an attempted rape reported in 1990 on the northwest side of Lebanon. He's being held in the Boone County Jail on preliminary charges of attempted rape, criminal deviate conduct, criminal confinement, burglary and intimidation.

Lebanon police say Richardson's DNA was collected in October when he was arrested on suspicion of stalking in Johnson County. The department says the Indiana State Police Laboratory matched Richardson's DNA to the 1990 case.

Police say investigators are looking for other open cases in central Indiana in which Richardson might've been involved.

It wasn't immediately known whether Richardson has an attorney.
