Rocky Ripple Town Attorney Needed

The town of Rocky Ripple is seeking an town attorney. This opportunity offers limited compensation but allows the attorney to gain municipal law experience while providing a valuable public service. Those interested should contact Carla Gaff at [email protected] or 317-441-5263.

Make an Impact

Each year, the Indianapolis Bar Foundation seeks to fulfill its mission by awarding a $35,000 Impact Fund Grant to a local organization. The application period for the 2016 grant is now open, with all applications due by Thursday, July 1. Additional details and application materials can be found online at indybar.org/ibf.

Honor an Outstanding Colleague

Nominations are now open for the 2016 Antoinette Dakin Leach Award, which is presented to a trailblazing female attorney by the IndyBar Women & the Law Division. The due date for nominations is July 25; the recipient will be honored at an event this fall. Submit your nomination at indybar.org/adl.

IndyBar Holiday Closing

The office of the Indianapolis Bar Association and Foundation will be closed on Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. The office will reopen with normal business hours on Tuesday, July 5.

Volunteers Needed for Eskenazi Family Law Workshop

Attorneys, law students and paralegals volunteers are needed at an upcoming Eskenazi Family Law Workshop, held at Eskenazi Hospital, on August 8. Training will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch and the workshop from noon to 4 p.m. Attorneys will assist individuals with family law documents and limited family law legal advice; law students and paralegals will perform intake. CLE credit, lunch and free parking are included. Contact Anna Kirkman at [email protected] to volunteer.

Pro Bono Training Opportunity

On Thursday, July 9, the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic will host “U Visa U. Course 4: U Visa Adjustment Clinic.” This is a one-day opportunity for volunteers to interact directly with clients in a meaningful way. Participants will first learn how to complete a U Visa Adjustment. Afterwards, participants will have the opportunity to complete a U Visa Adjustment with a client. There are volunteer opportunities for attorneys, interpreters (Spanish), law students, paralegals, and general volunteers.
