Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry said Tuesday that Gary Thompson has agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy to commit arson resulting in serious bodily injury. His plea agreement calls for a 30-year prison sentence, with 10 years suspended.
The 45-year-old Thompson had faced a September trial on two counts of murder and other charges in the November 2012 house explosion that killed two next-door neighbors.
Prosecutors say Thompson was one of five people involved in a plot to destroy the home in the south side Richmond Hill neighborhood with natural gas to claim insurance money.
Two others have been convicted, a third reached a plea deal and another faces a November trial.
