After a St. Joseph County trial court ruled for the ND police department, an Indiana Court of Appeals panel reversed in March, holding the Access to Public Records Act applies to the private university’s police. That same month, Gov. Mike Pence vetoed a bill that would have limited the amount of information private university police department would have to make public.
Justices granted transfer in ESPN, Inc., et al. v. University of Notre Dame Police Department, 71S05-1606-MI-00359, and will hear arguments at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Supreme Court Courtroom in the Indiana Statehouse.
