Provide Insight for Our Future – Indianapolis Justice Center
The IndyBar has continued to work closely with our local judicial officers regarding the possibility of moving both the civil and criminal courts to the mayor’s planned justice center at the former Citizens Energy Coke factory just east of downtown Indianapolis. Our judges are working hard to evaluate all options and to determine the best use of resources for our community. In evaluating these options, representatives from the Marion Superior Court have asked IndyBar members to provide input regarding the possible relocation of civil and criminal courts, as well as input regarding desired improvements to our courts.
Our judges want to hear from local practicing attorneys to better understand what technology, courtroom design, safety and other features would most benefit and promote the efficient practice of law in Indianapolis. The IndyBar has asked our Litigation, Family Law, Criminal Justice and Estate Planning & Administration Sections to seek feedback from their members and to provide this feedback to our IndyBar Justice Center Task Force as soon as possible. Our task force will then compile all the information and provide it to the judges as requested. This is an exciting time of change and opportunity in our local legal community. Do not miss this opportunity to voice your opinion about these potential changes and to provide guidance as our local leaders make decisions that likely will impact how we all practice law in the future.

Forms, Form, Forms
We’ve all heard this advice: don’t reinvent the wheel. Many practitioners have found immense time and money-saving benefits from templated forms and documents. In this vein, the IndyBar is undertaking an effort to completely revise our online forms directory so that we can provide convenient and useful practice forms to our members. Members from every substantive law section within the bar are currently at work identifying new forms and resources that would benefit our membership.
If there are forms that you do not have in your practice that you believe would be helpful, please contact Julie Armstrong at [email protected] and let her know your specific requests. Likewise, if you have a form you would like to share for the benefit of the Indy legal community, please contact Julie. We will do our best to fulfill the requests of all our members.
